Men’s Sex Lubes & Sex Lubricant

If you’re never used a sexual lubricant before. . . shame on you. Go get some right now. You can pick lube up at any pharmacy, Rite-Aid or Walgreens across the country and they are absolutely on of the best men’s sex toys ever. But is sex lube a toy? We think so. It’s certainly fun to play with, and like other sex toys it can take an intimate relationship and make it awesome.

So what is sex lube? Exactly what it sounds like. Sex lube makes sex easier and masturbation more fun. It’s basically slippery – very slippery – liquid you use when getting it on.

Water Based Sex Lubricants

Water-based lubes are exactly what the name implies – they are water-based. Their fundamental property is that they are very smooth, but not stick like other kind of sex lubes (read, silicone and oil-based lubes).

Being based with water, this lube will dissolve easily into the skin. It also makes cleaning up easy. All you have to do is wash it own with water and a little soap. Water based lubes will just come right off. That said, you will occasionally have to use more because it washes off easily, so make sure you get a big bottle.

Perhaps the best thing about water-based sex lubes are that they don’t corrode condoms like oil-based lubes. Water based lubes are totally safe to use with condoms. That said, occasionally you wind a water-based lubricant that has glycerin in it. The can create an infection in women so you want to make sure you clean up immediately afterward.

Silicone Based Sex Lubricants

Silicone sex lubricants are very closely related to water-based lubricants, with a few key differences. Silicone lubes tend to stay on longer than water lubes, they are thinner so you don’t have to use as much and they are significantly greasier.

One of the best things about them is they work great in a shower. Because they are not water soluble they stay on for a long time. That said, they are not the easiest to wash off. Some people love them, some people hate them. (We love them)

Oil Based Sex Lubes

We don’t recommend oil based lubes because they are not the best on a woman’s private parts and are not always the most natural of sex lube solutions. Additionally many oil-based lubes can corrode condoms. We generally suggest using a Water-Based or Silicone-Based Lube.
